Time To Rent "Passion of the Christ"...

Why?

Because I'm going to Israel.

I'l pause while the jealousy sets in.

Wait, you're note jealous?

Well you should be, because ladies and gentlemen, this isn't for a vacation.  This is a...

WORK TRIP!!!

Yep, and I leave in 2 weeks so there isn't much time to prepare.  I've already downloaded the Bible onto my Kindle and keep saying "Shalom" to everyone, but I am looking for suggestions as how to prepare.  I expect comments.  Lots and lots of comments.

And ye be warned - if I think the comments are offensive, I'll delete them.  Then I will mock you openly as being a horrible person.  Why?  Because this is my blog and I can do what I want!

I vote for reading "Yiddish Policemen's Union" to brush up on your alternate-universe history and also Yiddish vocab.

How exciting! How did you manage to get a work trip to Israel?

What the?

What kind of work trip requires an office worker from Chicago to go to Israel?

Do you work for Moody Bible Institute or something?

You will need to know the difference between a "schmiel" and a "schmazel"

A schmiel is someone who spills soup

A schmazel is the poor soul upon whom the schmiel spiils the soup

My advice: don't be a schmazel...

When you work in international travel, as I do, sometimes they send you places so you can report back on it. It's the same way I got to go to Tanzania about 3 years ago.

Don't worry about Yiddish (Harold), no one speaks that anymore. Instead of that movie, how about reading "The Source". Or watching "Masada"?

I don't know anything about Israel, but I hope you have a great trip.

I am also going for that particular thing. A schmazel is the poor soul upon whom the schmiel spiils the soup. I dnt advise for that.
