Manic Monday #30

The only thing in my candy dish at work right now are some Green Tea Kit-Kats.  That's what happens when you work with people who (A) like candy, and (b) travel to Japan.

Purple ink looks really cute on bright pink paper.  Purple ink looks like death on bright green paper.

Because of the bragging I did about my awesome shoes on Facebook and Twitter I have to bring them into work tomorrow for a coworker to try on.  Aren't I just setting fashion trends everywhere?

* Aren't they fabulous?  Sure, they have a 5 inch but they are actually real comfortable and were like $40.  Thanks TJ Maxx!  And no, these are not work shoes.  I still wear my Doc Martens from 1998 to work.

Speaking of 1998 - the internet in my office today was running at about 1998 dial up speed.  You don't realize how much you use the internet until you can't.

Okay, as you may or may not know, I am headed to Vegas Wednesday night with some friends.  This means I won't be posting.  But, if you follow me on Twitter @TheOfficeScribe you may be privy to some of that "what happens in Vegas" stuff.

And You Thought Your Day Was Weird...

Yesterday, I threw one of these at a coworker over the cubicle wall:

Today, a different coworker threw one of these at me:

Okay, so it wasn't real. It was a little doll of one made out of sisal.

But still, it was a weird thing to see come flying over a cubicle wall and land in my lap.

Kudos to my coworker for the good aim though!

This Week Was So Rough It Was Like...

... Drying off after a shower with sand paper.

... Trying to sneak a box of wine through airport security.

... Being a Flyers fan.

... Trying to get Lady GaGa to shop at the Gap.

... Riding bareback on a stegosaurus.

... Finding toilet paper in a Port-O-Potty at a summer festival.

... Force feeding a Big Mac to the president of PETA

... Not saying "That's What She Said" when someone says "But it's better when it's hard" (referring to ice)

... Reading the book Trainspotting.

... Going down a Slip-N-Slide without water.

Ladies.  Gentlemen.  It was a rough week.

So do me a favor and raise a glass of whatever you want and say a little prayer that next week is better.

And by better, I mean I win the lottery.

Manic Monday - The "Where The Hell Have I Been" Edition

Bad Blogger!  Bad, bad Blogger!  I know, I know.  I haven't been around much lately, but I have some really good reasons, such as:

Last week I was only in the office 4 days because everyone had Memorial Day off.  And yet I still worked 40 hours.  Can you do the math?  40 divided by 4 = 10.  Yeah... 10 hour days.  That's what happens when people have time off and those who are left must carry the load.  Yes, I am a martyr.  One day someone will name a street after me, I am sure of it.

Did you know I am going to Vegas?  Because I am!  Never in my life have I needed a vacation as much as this trip to June at the end of the month.  5 of my best friends and I are hitting Sin City for a little sun, a little fun, and enough frozen beverages to reverse global warming.  So I've been busy planning all those details - like how to get 6 girls and all their luggage to the hotel.  Oh, what's that?  I already booked a limo that will show up with roses and champagne for us fools like we're castoffs from "The Bachelor"?  Again, someone will name a street after me some day...

Even though we are well into summer some of you may have noticed that professional hockey is still being played.  We are currently 5 games into the Stanley Cup Finals.  And I think a little team called The Chicago Blackhawks leads the series 3-2.  So some of my nights have been spent actually watching hockey, something I have never done in my 28 years of being a sports fan. Case in point: I had to ask my mom what a Power Play was last night.  I am so much more of a baseball girl.

I decided that last night today might be the day to flee the country and assume another identity.  So in preparation I dyed my hair.  Nothing drastic - I'm actually trying to get back to my natural color.  But kudos to one co-worker for noticing.  The $8 box of hair dye and I thank you!

So as you can see - I have been a little busy.  But I am getting back on schedule so I should be around more.

And I'd like to thank all of you for sticking around.  I haven't lost a single follower since I went on my sabatical/hiatus/whatever.
